Can I schedule payments for my payees through Qwil?
Qwil has a feature that allows platform admins to schedule payments to contractors on a specific date. The modal features a date selection for when your bank account will be debited for the amount of the payment. Your payee should expect payment three business days after the scheduled debit date.
How do I schedule payments for my contractors?
You will see the Schedule Payment option towards the bottom of your screen when you click "Add Earnings" from your Earnings Dashboard in Qwil. Select the contractor from the drop down and enter an earnings amount on the next line. Earnings notes are optional, but they help the payee organize or understand specific payments. Next, schedule a debit date from the calendar (*note: weekends are unavailable for debit dates as we cannot debit accounts on weekends or banking holidays - please consider these factors when scheduling your debit date). The date debit date is the day Qwil will debit your linked bank account, not the day your selected payee will be paid.
When will my payees receive their earnings after I schedule the payment?
When you schedule a payment, the debit date you set is the date that your linked company bank account will be debited for the amount entered. The payment will be released to your payee(s) 3 business days later once the funds settle from your account.
Since payments are expected to take 1 - 2 business days to deposit to your payees' linked accounts after the settlement period ends (assuming they are located in the U.S.), we recommend scheduling the payments at least 5 business days in advance of when you would like your contractors to receive their earnings. Please note that we recommend adding additional business days into the scheduled payment for payees outside of the U.S. as the deposit timing to international accounts varies depending on the bank and country.
The calendar view below shows an example scheduled payment to a payee in the U.S., in terms of when your company account will be debited and when your contractors are expected to receive their earnings.
Example scheduled payment
*Direct deposit via ACH takes 1-3 business days to transmit (for larger banks the payment will land the next business day). The exact deposit day may vary slightly based on the payee's payment method and bank details. For international payments, there may be extra payment delivery time based on the country.
How can I track earnings that I have scheduled in Qwil?
Once you schedule a payment, you will see it listed in your Earnings tab in Qwil. The Creation Date is the date that you entered the scheduled payment into Qwil. Our team is currently working to improve this interface so that it is easier to track which payments you have added via the regular process versus those that are scheduled for a specific date. Please note that the date you schedule a payment using the Schedule Payment feature is not the date your payees will receive their payment.
How can I share feedback regarding this new feature?
We would love to hear your feedback so we can continually improve this feature. Please send any feedback to email@example.com and we will make sure it is passed on to our product and tech teams.
