Qwil will file 1099s for contractors of companies who request this service. A company must opt-in to the service in order for Qwil to file tax forms on your behalf. Qwil has partnered with Intuit to file and deliver our 1099 tax filing service.
How and when will I receive my 1099 form?
Qwil will mail (via USPS) hard copies of e-filed Form 1099s to you using your address information registered in the Qwil platform after we e-file with the IRS. If you require a correction to the e-filed Form 1099, you must submit a request to firstname.lastname@example.org with complete information no later than March 15th, 2020. Due to information security requirements, Qwil will not provide electronic copies via email.

Yes! You must have earned at least $600 (or at least $10 if you earn royalties) of income paid or uploaded through Qwil in the calendar year of 2019. You must also have a domestic US mailing address listed in Qwil. Unfortunately, Qwil cannot file for US contractors that are based (with a mailing address) internationally.
When will I receive my 1099?
Qwil will begin filing 1099s in January 2020, so at the earliest you may receive yours by the end of January 2020 via postal mail. Remember, you will only receive a 1099 from us if you meet the requirements.
What if my company doesn't opt-in to the Qwil 1099 tax filing service? When will I receive my 1099?
You should get in touch with your company to inquire about 1099 filing options as they'll likely have to file for you.
How do I know if my company has opted-in to Qwil's 1099 tax filing service?
If you haven't seen the Tax Season pop-up in Qwil asking you to confirm your tax information, your company may not have opted-in to the filing service. Companies have until November 30th, 2019 to opt-in to Qwil's filing service. Qwil will not file 1099s for contractors of companies that have not opted-in to the service.
